Georgetown and Round Rock Town Hall Meetings with Rep. John Carter

John Carter will hold two Town Hall Meetings in Williamson County as part of a campaign trying to whip up support for the New Medicare Prescription Drug Program which went into effect January 1, 2006.

Carter Town Hall Meetings:

--Today, Wednesday, January 11, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Sun City Georgetown Activity Center, Rooms 3 & 4
--Tomorrow, Thursday, January 12, from 8:00 am to 10:00 am at the Round Rock City Council Chambers.

There are PLENTY of tough questions that Carter needs to be asked about this “fix” of Medicare, so if you can make it to one of these meetings with a question or two ready, that would be good for all of us.

You can check out Families USA, a national, non-profit, non-partisan organization for health care consumers, at http://www.familiesusa.org/ for detailed presentations of how this new drug plan is not only very confusing, but will cost seniors (and in the end all of us) more money and provide them less coverage and effective health care choices – all while giving increased profits to drug companies and private health plan providers.
