Mary Beth Harrell To Launch Campaign For Congress
October 5, 2005

(Killeen) - Mary Beth Harrell, the wife of a retired military officer and mother of two active-duty solidiers in the war on terrorism, will formally announce her campaign for the U.S. Congress in CD 31 next Tuesday, October 11, with stops in Killeen and Round Rock.

"I am running to restore the kind of integrity, accountability, and faith in the future that the citizens of Central Texas demand and deserve," Harrell said.

A successful attorney, Harrell specializes in criminal law with a get-tough record that characterizes her additional work on behalf of taxpayers as a city prosecutor in the Central Texas community of Nolanville and a recent stint as interim prosecutor in Temple.

With her husband, a reserve police officer and Vice- Chair of the Bell County Bail Bond Board, Harrell operates a non-profit animal rescue operation, St. Francis Animal Sanctuary, and recently opened a second, Assisi Animal Refuge, working in cooperation with the Killeen Chamber of Commerce on a wide range of humane education programs in the area.
